Cadaqués and Portlligat are 40 km away: almost 1 h by car or taxi, or about the same on the Sarfa bus. Roses and Empuriabrava are a little closer, around 35 min by car. From Hotel Plaza Inn you walk to the Dalí Theatre-Museum, 50 m away, and come back to sleep in the centre of Figueres rather than on the coast.

Take the Sarfa bus from Figueres bus station; the journey takes about 1 h. It's the option if you're not going by car or taxi.
Roses. If you only have half a day, go there first and save Cadaqués for when you can spend the whole afternoon.
